Palma de Mallorca Airport Information

The most recent extension to the airport was completed in 1997 and resulted in the terminal being divided into blocks that can be used independently (A, B, C, D), with two parallel runways of 3000 and 3270 metres in length.

It is the 3rd most important airport in Spain with passenger volume only surpassed by Madrid and Barcelona. Flights are mainly from Germany and the U.K.

Son Sant Joan International Airport was opened in 1960 and is located 8 km from Palma de Mallorca town centre between Bahía de Palma (S'Arenal) and the City. It is connected to Palma de Mallorca by way of the Levante Highway and is served by two intercity bus companies. A Metro link connecting Palma with Arenal and the airport is expected to be completed soon.
